    Job Description

    The U.S. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team currently has an excellent opportunity within the U.S. Finance department. U.S. Finance is comprised of over one hundred financial professionals that oversee all financial activity, accounting transactions and economic policies for McDonald's USA, LLC. The various groups within the department work together to provide in-depth financial reporting for both the Company and its franchisees, preserve the internal control environment, develop financial strategies to complement the real estate portfolio, plan for the various business unit's capital, G&A and operating income goals, provide economic analysis on new business introductions such as menu, equipment, and operating procedures and manage the investment portfolio for assets related to Company owned restaurants.

    The U.S. FP&A team specifically provides financial management, planning/budget support, and actionable reporting to Senior Management and multiple U.S. departments. The team interacts closely with the U.S. CFO and U.S. Controller for all U.S. financial results, projections and plan achievement.

    Key Responsibilities:

    This position provides an outstanding opportunity for an individual to participate in and learn about McDonald’s U.S. business. In this position, you will learn and own the monthly reporting, projection, and planning aspects for Other Operating income. As the Other Operating Income lead for the US business, the candidate will track revenue streams, gains, write-offs, and receive exposure to a wide range of different types of transactions that may occur at McDonald’s.

    With this role, about 25% of your time will be dedicated to the U.S. Real Estate Finance Team where you will participate in assessing whether a site or real estate deal may be economically viable for McDonald’s to pursue. This will provide a great opportunity to grow your understanding of the McDonald’s business as a whole.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Prepare the annual Plan and complete regular projections for the U.S. Other Operating Income section of the financial statements
    • Provide critical variance analysis of monthly Other Op results based on actual results
    • Complete monthly analysis on different revenue streams, gains, write-offs and accruals
    • Calibrate with business partners to track and report on potential one-off transactions
    • Perform various monthly, quarterly and annual activities including but not limited to balance sheet reconciliations and financial disclosures for the U.S. Standalone Financial Statements
    • Leverage McDonald’s proprietary financial analysis tool for evaluating real estate development deals
    • Assist with various special projects and ad-hoc requests/reporting as needed
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Must be fully vaccinated (i.e., at least 2 weeks after last dose) for COVID-19 and, if hired, present proof of vaccination by start date_._

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. CPA preferred but not required.
    • 1-3 years of experience
    • Public accounting and/or Financial reporting experience is a plus
    • Outstanding analytical abilities, communication, and problem-solving skills
    • Strong attention to detail, organizational and time management skills and ability to work under tight deadlines
    • Highly organized
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in teams; takes initiative
    • Strong Microsoft Excel and data management skills
    • Desire and ability to quickly learn other software applications necessary to complete
