    ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT:

    US Finance is comprised of financial professionals who lead all aspects of all financial activity, including accounting, economic policy, business insights and analytics, and strategy and planning for McDonald's USA, LLC. The Finance team provides thought leadership and measurable insights to support the McDonald’s US business.

    ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

    This position provides a unique opportunity to join the largest U.S. operator of McDonald’s restaurants in the US (McDonald’s Owned Restaurants or “McOpCo”). The McOpCo Finance Manager – District CFO serves as the “one stop shop” for all financial-related matters for the McOpCo Operations Officers and is expected to play a strong leadership role and serve as “CFO” of their districts (this role supports the East, South, and Southeast Districts). The District CFO position is expected to help drive business results through identifying profit and margin opportunities and supporting the operations teams in execution of financial commitments and targets. In addition to their district responsibilities, the Finance Manager position will have the opportunity to participate in and influence larger McOpCo projects such as wage strategy, capital spend, portfolio considerations, etc.

    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    This is a highly visible role which allows for frequent and direct interaction with top McOpCo leadership, including the Operations Officers, McOpCo CFO, and McOpCo VP. This role also provides an opportunity for an individual to develop a strong understanding of the McDonald’s brand and business given responsibilities in leading all aspects of the district P&L’s and other financial commitments (for example, capital dollar and G&A spend).

    Responsibilities Include:

    • Analyze actual district level P&L results versus projection, prior year, and plan.
    • Identify / quantify profit opportunities, perform root cause analysis and partner with operations teams to develop practical recommendations
    • Effectively communicate trends in individual markets to influence performance improvement
    • Review assumptions and rationale for restaurant development, restaurant closings, lease extensions, etc. and provide recommendation to Controller for final approval
    • Partner with Operations Strategy and Analytics Team to provide financial training and drive accountability to deliver upon District level plans and restaurant level financial targets
    • Ad hoc analyses and special projects that positively impact the entire business unit (e.g., Financial Systems trainings, financial modeling for bonus programs for restaurant managers, daypart profitability analysis, components of National profit plan, etc.)
    • Proactively identify and implement efficiencies within financial processes

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Must be fully vaccinated (i.e., at least 2 weeks after last dose) for COVID-19 and, if hired, present proof of vaccination by start date.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting is required, CPA or MBA is preferred.
    • 5+ years of Finance/Accounting and analytical/data experience.
    • Strong Microsoft Excel skills are required. Oracle and Hyperion experience is a plus.
    • Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
    • Takes initiative and demonstrates creativity in finding efficiencies
