    Job Description

    The McDonald’s Employment Litigation Practice Group has an exciting opportunity for a dedicated lawyer with 3-5 years of legal experience! The Employment Litigation Group handles various matters including investigating and responding to government investigations, leading all aspects of labor and employment litigation, and certain labor and employment class and collective action cases.

    In this role, the lawyer’s responsibilities will include:

    • Thoroughly and efficiently investigate and respond to charges from government agencies, including preparing position statements and responses to requests for information, communicating with government agencies, and representing the Company at mediations and/or on-site investigations as needed (including preparing witnesses for on-site interviews).
    • Alongside senior counsel, oversee litigation and related matters where McDonald’s is a party or has an interest, including corresponding with opposing counsel, responding to subpoenas, drafting pleadings, preparing and responding to discovery, preparing witnesses for deposition and trial testimony, representing witnesses in depositions, and preparing for oral arguments
    • Alongside senior counsel, actively engage in the litigation process, including assessing risk, developing strategy, partnering with outside counsel, handling budgets, ensuring compliance with e-discovery requirements, preparing for trial, and devising strategy
    • Independently handle legal matters and projects ranging from basic to complex, with oversight by more senior counsel
    • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies
    • Influence the decision-making process by educating clients and stakeholders on legal matters, policies and procedures
    • Supervise, manage, and evaluate outside counsel as appropriate
    • This role requires some domestic travel (25%)
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • 3-5 years of labor and employment litigation experience required
    • Licensed to practice law and in good standing with a state bar association
    • Experience handling labor and employment and/or litigation matters in federal and state courts and administrative agencies
    • Stellar written and communication skills for both legal and non-legal audiences
