The Infrastructure Architect is part of the GTIO Restaurant Hardware & Infrastructure function and reports to the Senior Technical Product Manager. You will be responsible for providing subject-matter expertise for current and future planning, technical architectures, models, and standards. To ensure a cohesive enterprise technology strategy and direction, this role will work closely with related teams, including the Cloud Platform Engineering teams, Enterprise Architecture, Hardware Infrastructure Platform teams, and Engineering.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

• Participate in architecture and design discussions that produce requirements.
• Develop specifications, standards for end points and peripherals within the global technology environment including restaurants.
• Responsible for overall design ergonomics, chassis quality and its core compute components – CPU, RAM, Storage
• Accountable for maintaining industry standards such as IP, MIL, and electrical plus administering to test criteria.
• Building Connectivity- parallel, serial, USB, and IP protocols requirements and standards
• Define Cabling, rack Standards globally in diverse set of environments
• Understand key cloud/Edge computing security measures and apply them in architecture designs.
• Partner with our restaurant product and engineering teams to review architecture, solution designs and drive alignment on a Platform and Application North Star
• Create and maintain blueprints of all McDonald’s restaurant hardware devices, equipment, and systems as well as PaaS/SaaS solutions provided by vendors.
• Translate the technical roadmap to senior business leadership to help them better understand how technology will impact their business objectives.
• Lead all aspects of technology hardware vendors and ensure they are following all architectural standards and meeting all KPIs set forth by the Restaurant Operations Hardware Solutions team.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in hardware architecture design
• 3+ years of experience with cloud application architecture and deployment best practices (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP)
• Hands-on experience in IT Infrastructure/Platform
• Experience with process/deployment toolkits like MDT for Windows and knowledge of other OS.
• In-depth experience with cloud concepts: IaaS, Serverless Architecture, Containers, PaaS, Storage, Infrastructure as Code, Identity and Access Management.
• Understanding of device drivers: UPOS, OPOS, and JPOS.
• Security best practices for gold builds and image hardening.
• Strategic thinking, linking architectural decisions to business needs.
• Ability to independently manage multiple projects with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear, concise communication with senior stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical knowledge of hardware solutions, including an understanding of hardware components, systems, and technologies.
• Technical knowledge and experience with engineering and software architecture design, and DevOps
• Experience with change and design initiatives, covering areas such as operations, IT, and product development.
• Experience writing SQL or NoSQL queries and/or designing reports
• Experience defining user experience needs, writing epics, stories, and acceptance criteria in any automation scripting language such as Gherkin etc.
