    Job Description

    The Global Equipment Manager will be developing and evolving category strategies and Tier 1 Suppliers to deliver a resilient and innovative supply chain that assures supply of efficient, reliable, and sustainable kitchen equipment. The individual will have accountability for the entire category including category strategy, equipment development, equipment performance, after sales service/support and supplier management. Additionally, the person in this role will drive key supply chain initiatives and provide strategic direction and evolution in category management, supplier qualification & selection, risk management, new product development, product specifications/validations, reliability, sustainability, sourcing initiatives, pricing reviews, data analysis, and communication.

    Additionally, the Global Equipment Manager will focus on improving the quality of products, services and performance of the product categories they oversee while ensuring business requirements are fulfilled and value is optimized. Internally, this individual will be developing and evolving the Equipment Team’s processes to drive efficiencies and structure to category management. This position may entail the direct oversight of 1-2 Sourcing Analysts/Supervisors.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Lead the development of core equipment category strategies to deliver on the needs for the McDonald’s system at the best value with minimal risk and highest quality/reliability
    • Participate in setting and accomplishing strategic goals that define overall department direction
    • Lead and effectively work within cross-functional teams, both internal and external
    • Leverage critical supply chain data (i.e. sales, reliability, savings) and insights to improve decision-making
    • Translate industry trends, customer needs and opportunity analysis to design equipment specifications and long-term category strategy opportunities
    • Lead projects from conceptualization, to testing protocols, to commercialization
    • Lead all aspects of equipment projects with a high degree of strategic and potential system impact
    • Provide communications regarding content management, key messages, department initiatives and results
    • Stay informed on the latest industry trends
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in business, supply chain, finance, engineering or STEM fields is required
    • 5+ years of experience in leading category strategies, sourcing initiatives, supply chain management, engineering and/or purchasing positions is required
    • Previous people management skills are required
    • Experience within an international organization is preferred
    • Advanced degree or MBA is preferred
    • Industry certifications, such as PE, PMP, CPM, CSCP, are preferred
    • McDonald's experience (operations, finance, business insights, equipment, engineering, supply chain) a plus
