    Interested in being the Pre-Construction Manager for a premiere, central-Texas based commercial landscaping company?

    The Commercial Landscape Pre-Construction Manager requires ten years of experience in cost estimating and the ability to perform conceptual estimates and cost estimating as well as manage a team of Estimators. Must have the ability to perform quantity takeoffs from construction documents including plans and specifications, progress drawings, conceptual sketches, change order revisions, addenda and design narratives. The Pre-Construction Manager will obtain accurate and up-to-date pricing information from internal Estimators, databases, subcontractors, suppliers, etc. to utilize in estimates.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Review quantity takeoffs and estimates based on a variety of information including plans and specifications, progress drawings, conceptual sketches, change order revisions, addenda and design narratives
    • Develop budget estimates using plans and specifications, or other conceptual information
    • Review project plans and specifications and coordinate with the team to confirm complete scope
    • Identify potential bid/project risk issues and their order of magnitude to determine their suitability for the company
    • Review & identify constructability issues with operations staff
    • Maintain and communicate data on material and labor cost trends affecting project costs
    • Analyze alternate means and methods to determine the most economical alternative
    • Review and estimate change orders and other cost impacts
    • Other duties as assigned

    Required Qualifications:

    • 10+ years of commercial estimating experience
    • Excellent management skills: problem solving, clear and concise communication, proper vetting and decision making, delegation, motivation, and planning
    • Excellent client management skills; although not a “sales position”, a lot of what you do will be sales-related
    • Ability to comfortably lead meetings of 10+ people (clients, employees, subcontractors, suppliers, etc.)
    • Ability to breakdown construction operations into a logical sequence of activities; Fundamental understanding of construction phasing and organization of building components
    • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
    • Ability work independently but more likely to work as a team made up of pre-construction staff, sales personnel, and estimators
    • Organizational skills, oral and written communication and team attitude
    • Experience in utilizing Microsoft Excel and takeoff software
    • Willingness to learn and adapt to a changing market

    Salary and Bonus: $125,000 to $175,000+ per year
