Join a 3rd generation Landscape Construction & Service Firm in the Gran Rapids area. Still a family run business that has been able to provide services and keep clients happy but and need to support of an experienced shop manager, who can also work on equipment and fleet mechanics that are needed.
The major role of this position is to effectively and efficiently provide support to the production team by managing a shop and fleet of trucks and small equipment; including repairs, preventative maintenance and/or customizing/diagnosing/repairing both in the shop and for occasional road service operation. The Fleet Maintenance Mechanic plays a crucial role in supporting the Operations and Production Crews.
High school diploma/GED or experience in truck, equipment and shop maintenance, heavy equipment operations, and/or snow removal. Possess a good driving record, valid and unrestricted drivers license and valid automobile insurance. Must be able to prioritize, multi-task and function in a fast paced environment. Must have experience as a team player and supervision, preferably in the landscaping and snow removal business. Proven mechanical aptitude required. CDL – A with no air brake restriction is required (or must be obtained within 30 days of hire).
