    We are looking for a creative force who has a full understanding of what it takes to create zeitgeist-catching social. We want someone who is all in on social and fully understands the important role that strong social advertising and connections make when building brands and brand voice. We need a social-focused creative director to — not just lead — but BUILD a new social team at our new social agency, Banana Stand Content.

    While you are building a SWAT team of social specialists, you will also be involved in the creative development of ideas. This team will work in conjunction with the other McJ teams, but prioritize social above all else. This team will function on social timelines — not typical agency ones. This team will be freed from many agency constraints, but also responsible for owning social and creating a best-in-class social hub at McJ’s Banana Stand Content. You will work closely with the Head of Content to create this upstart social company.

    The candidate needs to have experience running multiple accounts as a CD. You need to have been in a position of managing multiple, cross-disciplinary teams to create effective and award-winning work. You must have an appreciation for and curiosity about the world and, specifically, social media’s role in it. You must be ready to hack social. You must not see social as the small and less interesting cousin to bigger brand ideas. You must see the largesse and excitement of social, but also understand the realities of what is social-first work. You need to be both a team player and team builder.

    Responsibilities:

    Creative direction across all Banana Stand Content accounts

    Management, mentorship, leadership of a cross-disciplinary team

    Building a new agency from scratch

    Work across state lines to coordinate with the other CDs and teams on shared accounts

    Establish and nurture strong relationships with client team

    Push for new business and create opportunity

    Requirements:

    Passion for social with deep channel understanding

    Hunger and thirst for new channels and social developments

    Experience creating social as well as working with influencers and content creators

    Ability to translate strategy and data into unexpected creative ideas

    10+ years of experience with at least two to three years in a creative director capacity

    Living in Austin is a plus. Living in Texas is a must.
