    We’re looking for a head of media innovation who’s equal parts visionary strategist and hands-on hacker. You’ll be leading a team of media planners/buyers/data analysts who are focused on media insights, unearthing hidden patterns in data and crafting plans and investment strategies for our brand partners.

    We are interested in deciphering the human language of consumer behavior across all platforms. At McJ, our goal is to develop unique human experiences that bring value to people and that prove out remarkable engagement for our clients.

    Requirements:

    You speak the language of data and impressions, but you also understand the magic of storytelling. You believe that data is the fuel, but creativity in media is the spark.

    You foster an environment where curiosity is king and failure is just another stepping stone to success.

    You understand that business results are as important as media results.

    You’re fluent in the language of statistics, machine learning and data mining.

    You’re obsessed with the latest trends, the hottest platforms, the weirdest corners of the internet. You spend your free time dissecting viral videos, analyzing meme trends and predicting the next big influencer before they even know they’re famous.

    You have experience coaching and leading a department of over 20 people.

    Responsibilities:

    Lead the development and implementation of data-driven media strategies/plans for the agency’s clients.

    Represent viewpoints on emerging media and guide the team on focal points that support the agency’s vision.

    Identify and evaluate new media technologies and platforms.

    Inspire the team and agency on the best ways to connect with people.

    Provide thought leadership on media and analytics to the agency and its clients.

    Future-proof the media planning/buying craft, with the advance of cutting-edge tools, custom dashboards and AI efficiencies.

    Develop and maintain the agency’s data infrastructure, including data collection, storage and analysis tools.

    Package and introduce our unique capabilities for new business leads.

    Create clear paths for growth for team members, including coaching and mentoring.

    Design client scopes and department staffing plans.

    Direct financial expenditures and investments for the department.

    Work with other heads of departments to implement collaborative processes and champion the department vision across the organization.

    Develop deep relationships with group brand directors, creatives and strategists to work together early and often.

    Oversee all accounts at the leadership level (65% billable utilization).

    Attend key industry and learning conferences.
