    THE POSITION:  We are looking for a Parent Partner, who is willing to embrace McKinley’s mission and H.U.M.A.N values. This Parent Partner is to provide active, hands-on peer support to parents of youth/young adults receiving services at McKinley.  Effective peer support should be friendly, helpful, accessible and flexible. Peer support may be delivered in individual or group settings at the agency, in family homes or in community environments.  The role of the Parent Partner is to work collaboratively to increase family involvement within program areas while decreasing unintentional, programmatic, and institutional bias about parents.

     

    COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

    The pay range we’re offering is $16.00 - $17.75 per hour depending on experience.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must be the biological or adoptive parent of a youth/young adult with special needs
    • Parent should have experienced level of care with their youth equivalent to the need
    • Bilingual skills preferable
    • Flexible hours consistent with the needs/availability of the clients
    • Program assignment
    • High school diploma or GED preferred
    • Maintains a non-judgmental attitude toward families
    • Maintains required licenses and certifications to perform role
    • Must pass pre-employment physical exam, TB and drug screening
    • Ability to commute to various sites
    • Ability to lift 10 pounds for filing
