JOB SUMMARY
- Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values.
- Serves as one of the primary representative of McLeod Health Physician Access Center.
- Provides physicians, patients and families with patient placement services provided by McLeod Regional Medical Center. Patient Placement Services consist of initial bed requests, transfer bed requests, assurance of timely bed assignments, communication with EVS to assure beds availability, and assistance with coordination of patient flow activities.
- Has a clear understanding that they serve our external customers, patients, and physicians, and also serve our internal customers. Internal customers include the departments of all McLeod Health Hospitals and outlying facilities.
- Operates specialized software and computer systems that includes but not limited to Bed Board/TeleTracking, Transfer Center, Cerner, Microsoft Office 365, Vital Link, and I-3 Conference Call System. Performs all computer functions as required in a timely and accurate manner.
QUALIFICATIONS /TRAINING:
- Minimum 2 years data entry/computer experience
- Advanced knowledge of Windows based computer systems
- Written and verbal communication skills with persons of all ages and diverse backgrounds
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Recent Bed Placement experience in and acute care setting will be accepted in lieu of certification.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/REGISTRATIONS/EDUCATION:
- Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED from an accredited school
