Required Skills
McLeod Health allows Nursing Assistants to further their education by providing Advanced Skills Training during their first week of employment. As a Medical Surgical Technician, he/she can assist the RN by supporting the patients’ basic needs; ensuring sterilization of rooms, beds, and equipment; offering Sterile dressing care; Foley Catheter Care, Phlebotomy, and Telemetry observation just to name a few.
POSITION TYPE: Part time and PRN positions available throughout various departments and units.
SCHEDULE: Shifts vary and are based on department needs. Does include working weekends and holidays.
EDUCATION: Successful completion of a nursing assistant program or 2+ years of experience in a hospital setting. Minimum of a High School Diploma/Equivalent from an accredited school or successful completion of WIN Testing or completion of McLeod approved Transition to Work Program
ORIENTATION/TRAINING: First week with McLeod: Monday 7:30am to 5:00pm; Tuesday 8:00am to 5:00pm; Thursday 8:00am to 12:00pm and Friday 8:30am to 12:30pm. If you are selected for hire, completing this orientation/training schedule is required to successfully complete the post offer requirements.
