The Hemodialysis Technician works under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse to assist the nurse in meeting the patient's basic needs during dialysis. Assists nurses in obtaining data and water specimens for assessment and responds to the results per teh established algorithms, AAMI and CMS standards and regulations. Supports the smooth operation of the department by performing tasks associated with Hemodialysis Unit organization and orderliness. Assists in providing technical support for equipment and water system. Orders and maintains supplies.
PRN as needed; as scheduled based on department needs: Operating hours are from 6:00am to 10:00pm Monday through Saturday. Rotating weekend and holiday requirements. Call required, must live within 30 minutes of McLeod in Florence to meet call requirements
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma or equivalent (GED) and Hemodialysis Technician Certification (CCHT) required. Biology or Chemistry degree preferred. Experience with quality assessment processes, data reporting and critical thinking skills helpful. Preferred candidate will have previous hemodialysis or other related healthcare experience.
