    HOURS: 7am - 5pm

    SUMMARY – BASIC FUNCTION OF THE ROLE

    Responsible for fabrication of rope assemblies, rope splicing, press operation and sling testing and inspection.

    JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Responsible for joining two separate lengths of rope together to make longer stretches of rope or add components per customer’s request.
    • Monitor quality throughout the shift by inspecting each part before and after it is produced for potential quality issues.
    • Keep supplies readily available and organized.
    • Understand the handling of product and proper methods of splicing according to procedures or supervisor’s instructions.
    • Count, sort and stack finished work pieces and dispose of waste material.
    • Clearly label raw material, work in progress, and finished goods.
    • Comply with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Lock Out, and all other Safety requirements.
    • Consistently adhere to and support company policies, Work Instructions and/or other procedures, and ISO requirements.
    • Compliance with all local, state and federal requirements.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES - identify the competencies that are most critical for success in the role __

    • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required

    • Ability to read and understand patterns and prints

    • Ability to read a tape measure

    • Flexibility to rotate shifts as required

    • Ability to work overtime as required

    • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; maintain effective working relationships

     

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma or GED preferred.

    EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 6+ months of manufacturing experience and rope assembly preferred.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    Primary work environment is non-temperature controlled workshop/manufacturing facility where following appropriate safety protocols at the location would be required. Employee will be exposed to heavy levels of noise in workshop.
