Responsible for the new and annual physicals assessments of local industry employees. Performs triage of sick and injured patients to determine if further medical attention is needed. Refers individuals needing further attention to the appropriate source of medical treatment. Responsible for handling all blood borne pathogen including counseling/treatment. Provides educational assistance and training for as needed (First Aid, etc.). Assists in a variety of physical examinations including DOT, HAZMAT, and other exams. Performs physical evaluations for patients injured in occupational settings. May be required to perform venipuncture, EKG, audiometric and pulmonary function testing. Performs urine drug and breath alcohol testing. Develops Occupational Health policy and procedures; assists in developing and implementing wellness and employee safety programs. Education Requirements: Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Licensed RN in the state of SC or other compact state required. Must have current BLS certification. Training in Infection Control, Employee Health, or Occupational Health practices preferred.
Experience Required: Two years or more experience in nursing, triage, and first aid. Experience in Critical Care, Emergency, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Occupational Health, or Employee Health would be advantageous.
