POSITION TITLE: SUPPLIER QUALITY ENGINEER
SHIFT: Monday – Friday; 8 – 4:00 pm; flexible
SUMMARY
Our supplier quality engineering team guards plant quality through a hands-on approach. Like SQEs everywhere, we issue, track, resolve, and monitor our quality concerns to suppliers, prevent future issues through the PPAP process, and work collaboratively with sourcing, engineering, and the greater QA team. Unlike some SQEs experiences, our team spends 40%-60% of work hours on the plant floor where the issues are identified, defined, and eventually monitored for resolution. While some day travel to suppliers is involved, the day in and day out centers on driving honest KPI improvement through collaborative relationships, investigating nonconformances to actionable dispositions, and driving effective correction action plans with suppliers. SQEs are the face of the plant to our suppliers, the face of suppliers to our sourcing team, and facilitators of APQP discussion for the home team.
