  • Responsibilities

    The successful candidate is expected to work as an integral part of the hospital oncology treatment team as well as communicating with the physics group as a whole. Responsibilities include treatment planning, chart review, and accelerator quality assurance in accordance with the report of AAPM TG-142. Occasionally, participation in LDR prostate seed implants is required. In addition, participation in physics meetings (weekly) and continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives with the support of the physics group is expected.   Experience with some or all of the following equipment is desirable: Varian TrueBeam accelerators, Eclipse and BrainLab iPlan treatment planning systems, Aria record and verify system, BrainLab ExacTrac, Variseed prostate LDR treatment planning system, Nucletron Oncentra Brachy planning system, and Sun Nuclear QA equipment (MapCheck2, Daily QA3, 1D Phantom). Proficiency with additional Physics QA equipment and software (OmniPro Accept, Blue Phantom, Lucy Phantom, DoseLab Pro, etc.) is a plus.

     

    WORK SCHEDULE Full-time (80hrs biweekly).  Hours as scheduled. 

    EDUCATION Minimum of a Masters Degree in Physics.  ABR Board Certified or eligible in Therapeutic Radiology.

    EXPERIENCE REQUIRED 1 year of experience

    MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:  ABR Board Certified or eligible in Therapeutic Radiology.

    Ability to be listed as an authorized medical physicist on a radioactive material license in the State of South Carolina.
