    POSITION SUMMARY Meals on Wheels Yolo County ("MOW Yolo") is expanding our team with the addition of a compassionate and reliable Meal Delivery Driver. Reporting to the Operations & Logistics Manager, this role supports MOW Yolo’s mission by ensuring accurate, timely delivery of bulk frozen meals to seniors and partner organizations throughout Yolo County and Northern California. Using MOW Yolo-owned or leased vehicles, drivers complete both bulk and time-sensitive deliveries, fostering positive connections with senior recipients and partners alike. The work of the Delivery Driver furthers MOW Yolo’s mission to nourish and engage vulnerable older adults throughout Yolo County and beyond.

    REGULAR WORK SCHEDULE

    The Meal Delivery Driver is a full-time (30+ hours per week), non-exempt position, working Monday through Friday, five days a week, based from strategic locations in both Woodland and Winters as circumstances dictate. Exact days, hours, and locations are to be determined in consultation with the supervisor and can be subject to change.

    ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Pack, stage, and deliver bulk and time-sensitive frozen meals throughout Yolo County and Northern California using MOW Yolo vehicles and standard delivery equipment, while following all food safety protocols.

    Provide compassionate, professional service to seniors and partners, communicating effectively and serving as an ambassador of MOW Yolo’s mission and values.

    Maintain accurate delivery records and route sheets, and document any interactions with seniors or partners requiring follow-up, using electronic systems and devices as needed.

    Safely operate and care for MOW Yolo vehicles, promptly reporting maintenance or safety concerns, and adhere to all operational guidelines.

    Complete required training, certifications, meetings, and activities, and perform other duties as assigned with a positive, mission-driven attitude.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Licensed and able to safely operate MOW Yolo vehicles (including larger or refrigerated vehicles) for extended periods while adhering to schedules and food safety requirements.

    Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and performing repetitive bending, reaching, loading, and unloading tasks during deliveries.

    Able to use or learn to use delivery equipment such as pallet jacks and dollies, and work independently with minimal supervision while demonstrating reliability and initiative.

    Competent in reading, writing, basic math, and proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and other electronic systems for accurate record-keeping.

    Flexible, patient, and professional, maintaining high standards of hygiene and demeanor while adapting to changing priorities and contributing to MOW Yolo’s Culture of Innovation.

    POSITION LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/VACCINATIONS:

    Current California Driver’s License

    Proof of automobile insurance

    ServSafe Food Handler certification (MOW Yolo will pay for this training if needed)

    COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

    $23.00 per hour, payable per the regular payroll schedule and subject to applicable withholding and payroll taxes and other deductions required by law. Full-time employees receive 100% paid medical, dental, and vision insurance, vacation and sick time accrual, 11 paid holidays annually, and the option to participate in a 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan.
