QUALITY ASSURANCE/COMPLIANCE COORDINATOR- OPWDD SELF DIRECTION PROGRAM
Meaningful NY (MNY) is a fast growing non-for-profit agency providing services to individuals with developmental disabilities in OPWDD Self Direction Program. We are looking for a Compliance/Quality Assurance Coordinator to ensure that our program operations and business transactions follow all relevant OPWDD (Office for People with Developmental Disabilities) and OMIG (Office of Medicaid Inspector General) guidelines and regulations. Responsible for conducting internal audits, providing feedback and written reports on the findings. Coordinating all incident reporting activities to include participation on the Compliance Committee and Incident Review Committee. Train employee's on compliance and quality assurance issues. Your goal will be to ensure MNY's operate in a legal and ethical manner while meeting our services objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete internal investigations on compliance and quality of life incidents..
- Develop and implement an effective compliance quality management program.
- Complete internal audits and provide verbal and written constructive feedback.
- Train employees/individual and families on Quality Assurance/Compliance policies and procedures.
- Evaluate program internal policies and procedures to assess compliance risk.
- Collaborate with external auditors when needed.
- Set plans to manage a crisis or compliance violation.
- Educate and train employees on regulations and OPWDD practices.
- Address employee, individual and family concerns or questions on compliance and quality assurance issues.
- Keep abreast of internal standards and business goals.
- Must be able to travel to lower Hudson Valley, all 5 boroughs of NYC (Manhattan, Queens, Bronx, Brooklyn, and Staten Island) and Long Island.
- Attend weekly and monthly meetings as needed.
SKILLS
- Proven experience as a Quality Assurance/Compliance Coordinator or Compliance Specialist
- Must be familiar and well versed in OPWDD and OMIG guidelines, regulations and standards
- Experience working on IRMA(Incident Reports and Management Application)
- Experience working with OPWDD Incident Management Unit.
- Familiarity with OPWDD and OMIG industry practices and professional standards
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- BA required. MA in human services or health care is preferred.

Remote Work
- Currently all business is completed remotely.
- Although travel maybe required to Long Island, NYC (Manhattan, Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn and Staten Island) and lower Hudson Valley to attend a meetings or conduct an investigations
- Most meetings are conducted remotely.
