Job Summary

TBI Unlimited is seeking a dependable and motivated Mechanic Assistant to support the maintenance and repair of landscaping equipment and company vehicles. This position is ideal for someone with hands-on mechanical experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced outdoor service environment.

The Mechanic Assistant will help inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair a variety of equipment including small engines, gas-duty trucks, and small diesel equipment to ensure the fleet and tools remain safe and operational.

Responsibilities:

· Assist with maintenance and repair of:

Small engine equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, etc.)

Gas-duty trucks and trailers

Small diesel equipment

· Perform routine preventative maintenance including oil changes, filters, belts, blades, and fluid checks.

· Diagnose mechanical issues and assist with repairs.

· Assist with loading/unloading and transporting equipment when needed.

· Follow all company safety procedures and standards.

Requirements:

· Experience working on small engine equipment required

· Experience servicing gas-duty trucks required

· Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment

· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

· Valid drivers license

· Reliable transportation

· Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in varied weather conditions

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

· Previous experience in landscaping, construction, or fleet maintenance

· Knowledge of small diesel equipment maintenance and repair preferred

· Welding or fabrication experience is a plus

Compensation & Benefits:

· Competitive pay based on experience (minimum salary 44k based on a 40-hour work week)
