Position Overview:
Sweetheart Ice Cream is seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanic with a strong background in servicing Isuzu, Freightliner, and International trucks. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with both gas and diesel engines and be well-versed in diagnostics, repair, and maintenance for commercial trucks.

Key Responsibilities:
Perform diagnostic tests and use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues on Isuzu, Freightliner, and International trucks.
Repair and maintain gas and diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and other essential vehicle systems.
Inspect vehicles for compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
Conduct routine maintenance, including oil changes, tire rotations, brake adjustments, and more.
Diagnose and repair electrical, suspension, and hydraulic systems.
Perform preventive maintenance tasks to extend vehicle lifespan and reduce downtime.
Keep accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed.
Ensure all work is completed in a timely and safe manner.
Communicate effectively with team members and customers, especially regarding complex mechanical issues.
Assist in parts ordering and inventory management when necessary.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience working with Isuzu, Freightliner, and International trucks.
Proficient in working with both gas and diesel engines.
Solid understanding of truck systems (engine, transmission, electrical, brakes, etc.).
Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment effectively.
Must own a full set of mechanic tools to perform repairs.
Strong attention to detail and troubleshooting skills.
Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Valid driver's license (CDL preferred but not required).
Spanish-speaking is a plus for communication with a diverse clientele.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with additional truck brands or specific models.
Familiarity with modern computerized diagnostic systems and tools.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
