Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our established Landscaping Business of 30+ years. We need a mechanic part-time approx. 30 hours a week to maintain and repair commercial mowers, small engines, small hand tools, trucks and equipment. Additional hours may be available assisting in field operations for candidates interested in extra work. Flexible hours available!
As an Auto Mechanic, you must have an in-depth understanding of all vehicle systems and components. You will also be responsible for maintaining repair shop equipment, preparing cost estimates, and maintaining a welcoming environment.
The ideal candidate is skilled in communicating with customers, able to explain vehicle issues clearly and concisely and provide valuable advice.
Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair commercial landscaping equipment (zero-turn mowers, stand on mowers, trimmers, blowers, edgers, chainsaws
Perform routine preventative maintenance on all fleet equipment
Maintain & repair trucks, trailers, & hydraulic systems.
Diagnose & repair electrical systems, starters, alternators, and wiring issues.
Sharpen & replace blades; service belts, pulleys, and drive systems
Conduct seasonal equipment inspections and tune-ups
Maintain service logs
Order parts and manage inventory of shop supplies
Ensure equipment meets safety and operational standards
Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize crew downtime
Perform welding and minor fabrication repairs as needed
Keeps shop area clean, organized
Communicate repair timelines with Management
Qualifications
Valid drivers license
Ability to lift 50 to 75 lbs
Dependable, punctual, & safety focused
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
Ability to read service manuals & parts diagrams
Experience in welding a plus
Experience in small engine repair, equipment maintenance, or related mechanical field
Own basic mechanic tools (preferred)
