Mechanic – Manufacturing Equipment

Location: Newark, NJ
Compensation: $100,000–$125,000
Schedule: Night shift preferred; day shift available

Day Shift: Monday–Thursday, 7:30 AM–4:30 PM; Friday, 7:30 AM–12:00 PM
Night Shift: 5:00 PM–3:00 AM, 4 nights per week

Why This Role Exists

We are looking for an experienced hands-on Mechanic to keep production equipment running safely and reliably.

This role is for someone who is comfortable working directly on machinery, diagnosing problems, making repairs, and preventing equipment failures before they cause unnecessary production downtime.

Manufacturing maintenance experience is important. We need someone who understands the urgency of a production environment and can troubleshoot problems effectively when equipment goes down.

What You Will Own

• Troubleshoot mechanical problems with manufacturing and production equipment
• Perform hands-on repairs and equipment adjustments
• Diagnose equipment failures and determine practical repair solutions
• Complete preventive maintenance and scheduled equipment inspections
• Respond quickly to equipment downtime and production issues
• Identify recurring equipment problems and help eliminate root causes
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records
• Work closely with production teams to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently
• Follow all required safety procedures during maintenance and repair work

• Production equipment is repaired quickly and correctly
• Equipment downtime is reduced
• Preventive maintenance is completed consistently
• Recurring mechanical problems are identified and addressed
• Equipment reliability improves
• Production teams have a dependable maintenance resource when problems occur

What You Need

• Strong hands-on mechanical maintenance and repair experience
• Experience working with machinery in a manufacturing or production environment
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic ability
• Experience with preventive maintenance
• Ability to work independently and solve equipment problems under production pressure
• Strong understanding of safe maintenance practices

Experience with electrical troubleshooting, pneumatics, hydraulics, automated equipment, CNC machinery, or CMMS systems is helpful but not required.
