    Position: Mechanic

    Reports To: Branch Manager

    Overview: As a mechanic at LSM Outdoor Power, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining outdoor power equipment including, but not limited to, lawn mowers, trimmers, blowers, and generators. This role requires a keen eye for detail, a strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues with outdoor power equipment.

    Perform repairs on engines, transmissions, and other components as needed.

    Conduct regular maintenance checks and service equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity. This includes oil changes, filter replacements, and general upkeep.

    Interact with customers to understand their equipment issues and provide clear, honest assessments and solutions.

    Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer satisfaction.

    Maintain accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed.

    Document parts used and time spent on each job.

    Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

    Manage and order parts and supplies needed for repairs and maintenance.

    Stay up to date with the latest techniques and technologies related to outdoor power equipment.

    Attend training sessions and workshops as needed.

    Required Skills, Education & Experience:

    Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical repair, preferably with outdoor power equipment.

    High school diploma or equivalent. Technical or vocational training in small engine repair is highly desirable.

    Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills. Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.

    Certification from a recognized institution (e.g., ASE, OEM) is a plus.

    In-depth knowledge of 2-cycle engine components, systems, and troubleshooting techniques.

    Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 75lbs), bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods.

    Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical customers.

    Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including parts diagrams and schematics.

    This role may require flexibility to work weekends or evenings based on store hours and business needs.
