Mechanical Assembler
Pay: $20-24/hr.
Shift:
- 1st shift = Mon-Fri (7am to 3:30pm)
- 2nd shift = Mon-Thu (3:30pm to 2am) - Must be able to train on 1st shift for up to 90-days if needed.
Description:
- Cannonball Recruiting is seeking Mechanical Assemblers to join our team. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, experienced with mechanical assembly, and comfortable working with large metal enclosures. This role requires the ability to read blueprints and tape measures, use hand and power tools, and ensure assemblies meet quality and safety standards.
Qualifications:
- Prior mechanical assembly experience; mechanically inclined
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and tape measures accurately.
- Proficient with hand and power tools, including grinders and cutting tools.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Crane rigging or heavy lifting equipment experience preferred.
- Willingness to learn MIG welding (training provided).
- Strong math skills for measurements and layout.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Job Duties:
- Commit to a safe work environment, quality product standards, and teamwork.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and other instructions to determine assembly methods, materials, and specifications.
- Measure dimensions of completed products or workpieces to verify conformance to specifications.
- Align, position, and secure parts to ensure proper fit and assembly.
- Lay out and prepare parts for assembly.
- Lift and maneuver large materials or workpieces using cranes, hoists, or other lifting equipment (rigging experience a plus).
- Use hand tools, power tools, grinders, and cutting equipment to complete assembly tasks.
- Mount and secure components onto structures or production equipment.
- Smooth, finish, or adjust surfaces and edges as needed to ensure quality assembly.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production deadlines.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and handle large metal components.
- Comfortable working on your feet for extended periods.
- Ability to safely operate lifting and rigging equipment.
