    Works with and oversees the assembly staff to assemble water treatment systems by mounting or installing electrical and mechanical equipment such as pumps, motors, mixers, tanks, pressure vessels, other electrical and industrial equipment, and related industrial apparatus, according to blueprints/drawings and wiring diagrams. Ensures efficiency and timely assembly to maximize turn-around of orders. Plans, directs, coordinates, and manages activities of staff engaged in assembling parts or sub-assemblies into units by performing the following duties.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities - include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    · Assists in specifying components by contacting appropriate vendors at the direction of the

    Systems Assembly Manager.

    · Coordinates production activities with procurement, maintenance, and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of staff, machines, and equipment.

    · Documents and communicates part shortages to project supervisor for ordering.

    · Discusses errors in drawings or bill of materials with project supervisor or designer to clarify assembly issues/questions.

    · Prepares systems for shipment by crating and packing – ensuring packing standards are met.

    · Ensures that projects are complete timely for QA and shipment and conserves organizational resources, maintains budget.

    · Travels to client sites to assist with installation and startup. International travel may be required.

    · Maintains a clean and organized work area.

    · Ensures that tools are in safe working order and are put away in their appropriate location at the end of each day.

    · Communicates questions or concerns regarding the assembly process, testing procedures, drawings, etc. to appropriate person.

    · Ensures staff are trained to safely use hand tools, as well as saws, drills and other power tools and equipment. Delegates work assignments and sets expectations and monitors delegated activities.

    · Identifies and resolves issues and problems promptly; gathers and analyzes information; develops alternative solutions when required; uses strong reasoning to resolve staff issues, documents issues and resolution.

    · Participates in and supervises inventory counts.

    · Inspects materials and equipment to meet quality standards established by RODI/the customer.

    · Enforces receiving and inventory control policies.

    · Other duties may be assigned.

    · Works side-by-side with systems assembly technicians in a hands-on fashion.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    Directly supervises employees in the assembly of water treatment equipment. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; communicating needs of the department to the Systems Assembly Manager, addresses complaints and resolves problems. Unresolved or sensitive problems should be brought to the attention of the Systems Assembly Manager.
