Mechanical Automation Engineer

Summary:
Technical Source is seeking a Mechanical Automation Engineer in Morrisville, NC for a hands-on role that combines mechanical design with project leadership to bring automated manufacturing solutions to life. You will lead the design, integration and delivery of advanced industrial automation and robotics systems, serving as a bridge between concept and commissioning of mechanical, electrical and control systems. This is the front-end technical role: you’ll support sales, develop concepts, own mechanical design, and lead projects from initial requirements through FAT/SAT and installation. All candidates must meet the requirements listed, for consideration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sales and Concept Support
• Mechanical design to include building, testing and debugging
• FAT/SAT and Installation
• Systems Integration

Required:

• Industrial automation experience
• Independent design of at least one complete machine
• 3-5 years of SolidWorks experience
• Full project life cycle experience
• Application knowledge taking customer needs and translating that into engineering solutions
• BS/MS degree in Mechanical Engineering (Mechatronics degree or focus preferred)

Preferred:

• Prototyping experience
• Testing and debugging
• Component specification (actuators, servos, sensors and pneumatics)
