    About Us

We are an innovative new venture focused on advanced micro nuclear power system for power generation to deliver safe, clean, and renewable power for the future. Our mission is to accelerate the transition to sustainable energy through advanced nuclear technology that is scalable, efficient, and reliable. As we expand, we are seeking passionate engineers to help design the next generation of thermal and power generation systems.

    Position Summary

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team. This role focuses on detailed mechanical design, packaging, and integration of power and thermal systems within a multidisciplinary engineering team.

The ideal candidate has experience designing complex hardware, including rotating equipment, pressure vessels, piping systems, and thermal-mechanical components, and is comfortable working within collaborative, performance-driven environments.

    Key Responsibilities

Perform detailed clean sheet mechanical design of power system hardware, including:

    Structural components and system packaging

Piping, manifolds, and process flow layouts

Pressure vessels, recuperators and heat exchangers

Create and maintain high-quality 3D CAD models and production drawings, applying proper GD&T in accordance with aerospace standards.

Support integration of mechanical designs with:

Thermal engineering (heat transfer, cooling paths, transient conditions)

Controls and instrumentation (valves, actuators, sensors, interfaces)

Systems engineering requirements and configuration management

Design and support rotating equipment and power-generation components, including pumps, turbines, compressors, and auxiliary drives.

Assist with vendor technical coordination, including:

Preparing technical specifications and statements of work

Supporting supplier evaluations and component down-selection

Assisting with vendor qualification and first article development

Reviewing vendor drawings and data packages

Apply additive manufacturing (DED, LPBF) where appropriate for complex geometries, particularly advanced heat exchangers and integrated thermal-structural components.

Support material selection for high-temperature and high-reliability applications, considering strength, fatigue, creep, corrosion, and manufacturability.

Perform basic to intermediate stress and thermal-mechanical analyses to support design decisions and margin assessments.

Support hardware build, test rig, and design iteration activities, incorporating test feedback into updated designs.

Develop specifications and standard work requirements based on top level system objectives.

    Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline

5+ years of experience in mechanical design within aerospace, defense, energy, or similarly regulated industries

Proficiency with 3D CAD tools (e.g., NX, Creo, CATIA, SolidWorks)

Strong knowledge of GD&T and aerospace drawing standards

    Experience with:

    Rotating machinery and power systems

Pressure vessels, boilers, and heat exchangers

Piping systems, P&IDs, and process flow diagrams

Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams

    Preferred / Plus Qualifications

Experience with aerospace, power systems, or advanced energy systems

Experience with metal additive manufacturing and design-for-AM principles

Experience with ASME BPVC, aerospace structural standards, or high-reliability design practices

Experience designing for extreme environments (high temperature, vacuum, radiation, or long-life systems)

    Core Competencies

    Detail-oriented mechanical design and documentation

Strong understanding of strength of materials and mechanical fundamentals

Ability to translate system requirements into manufacturable hardware

Clear technical communication and documentation skills
