Mechanical Design Engineer

Our client is looking for a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join their engineering team. This role is focused on the development of advanced thermal cooling solutions for high-power electronic systems, precision machinery, and process control equipment. The engineer will lead efforts in design, analysis, prototyping, and validation of thermal management systems, working cross-functionally with engineers, project managers, and customers to deliver reliable and innovative solutions that meet rigorous industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of custom cooling and thermal management systems for high-performance electronics and industrial equipment.
 - Perform heat transfer and thermodynamic analyses, including CFD modeling of airflow, heat exchangers, and refrigeration systems.
 - Create and refine detailed 2D/3D CAD models and mechanical drawings for thermal systems and related components.
 - Develop and validate prototypes and test fixtures, ensuring new concepts meet functional and regulatory requirements.
 - Participate in design reviews to evaluate feasibility, performance, and compliance with ASME Section I & VIII Boiler & Pressure Vessel Codes.
 - Partner with operations, sales, and service teams to resolve technical challenges, support customer requirements, and translate feedback into actionable design improvements.
 - Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to streamline processes and enhance equipment reliability.
 - Support full project lifecycle activities from concept development through fabrication, installation, and warranty support.
 - Prepare and maintain project specifications, documentation, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for assigned designs.
 
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
 - 4+ years of mechanical design experience, with demonstrated expertise in thermal systems, cooling solutions, and heat transfer applications.
 - Proficiency with AutoCAD (2D) and strong working knowledge of 3D CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor).
 - Familiarity with system and component-level thermal and fluid dynamics analysis, including CFD tools.
 - Solid understanding of industrial equipment fabrication methods and pressure component design.
