Position Summary
Under general direction, provides extended expertise in designing, developing, and testing a wide range of mechanical products per requirements and specifications. Meets high level of engineering standards per design specifications.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Designs, develops, and tests mechanical components. Participates in engineering activities to define product requirements, create designs, perform simulation testing, and validate final hardware components
- Performs mechanical development and integration using Computer-Aided-Design (CAD) concepts and applicable methods and procedures. Siemens NX a plus
- Performs mechanical development and integration assignments, conducts value analysis during the product design phase while optimizing development costs, solves technical problems, and improves existing designs
- Evaluates process inputs and refines processes to achieve conforming results. This may include knowledge and testing of material parameters through various testing methods
- Collaborating with production teams to ensure the successful manufacture of composite products
Required Skills
- Advanced knowledge and ability to apply core concepts of engineering (mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science, structural analysis, and electricity)
- Excellent ability to apply a systematic, disciplined, and analytical approach to problem solving
- Good proficiency of CAD and modeling
- Ability to explain a range of complex technical information
- Ability to use existing procedures to solve problems
- Ability to research and analyze data effectively
- Ability to gather data, to compile information, and prepare reports
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Well-organized, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task
- Strong prioritization skills
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web-browsers
Required Experience
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- 2-4 years of experience
