    Mechanical Engineer – Automated Machines

Our client is hiring a Mechanical Engineer to design and support custom automated equipment from concept through customer installation. This is a hands-on, full lifecycle design role for engineers who enjoy solving complex problems and working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. If you have experience in machine design and want to see your work come to life on the manufacturing floor, this is the opportunity for you.

    What You’ll Do:

    • Develop mechanical designs for complex automation systems that meet customer requirements and performance standards
    • Design components and assemblies using 3D solid modeling (SolidWorks or Siemens NX preferred)
    • Generate detailed 2D drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for manufacturing release
    • Analyze tolerance stacks, stress, and load requirements to optimize system performance
    • Perform peer reviews and self-checks of engineering documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness
    • Select mechanical and pneumatic components with a focus on reliability and cost-efficiency
    • Provide technical support during assembly, testing, and startup of equipment
    • Revise drawings and BOMs based on redlines and feedback from engineering and manufacturing teams
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Project Management, Manufacturing, and Controls Engineering
    • Participate in customer reviews and provide input during installation and final acceptance
    • Spend time on the shop floor verifying design intent through fit, function, and hands-on evaluation

    What You Bring:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME required)
    • 2–4 years of recent experience in machine design or custom equipment engineering
    • Expertise in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred), including part modeling, assemblies, and drawing generation
    • Understanding of pneumatics, automation components, and metrology tools
    • Familiarity with conveyors, pick-and-place systems, indexing mechanisms, and other automation techniques
    • Basic knowledge of engineering analysis (stress, loading, flow, and tolerance stack-ups)
    • Strong attention to detail and a willingness to be involved throughout the entire equipment lifecycle
    • Ability to communicate clearly, manage time effectively, and work in a team-driven environment

    Additional Details:

    • Onsite role in a professional office and manufacturing environment
    • Occasional travel may be required (up to 25%)
    • Must be able to wear PPE and physically support work on the shop floor (climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs, etc.)
    • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required due to ITAR regulations

    Why Apply?

    • Be part of a collaborative engineering team creating cutting-edge automation solutions
    • Work on custom projects from scratch—every system is unique
    • See your designs come to life with full support from manufacturing, controls, and project teams
    • Competitive compensation and benefits package
    • Opportunity for growth and technical skill development
