    Mechanical Engineer / CAD Drafter – Summary

    This role involves planning and designing using Cabinet Vision CAD software to create layouts, detail drawings, assembly drawings, sketches, and diagrams, including all necessary views and dimensions for manufacturing. Responsibilities include making copies of drawings, maintaining records of changes, and performing basic mathematical calculations using the metric system. Regular communication with customers ensures that designs meet their needs and requirements. The role also provides mechanical engineering support to the Engineering Manager as needed in the production area of the manufacturing plant

    Essential Functions:

    Develop designs using Cabinet Vision CAD software.

    Create and revise production drawings (detail and assembly).

    Finalize sketches, checking dimensions, materials, and relationships between parts.

    Collaborate with all departments to ensure drawings convey correct information.

    Greet customers, answer questions, and direct them as needed.

    Work closely with customers to ensure design specifications are met.

    Meet tight deadlines and customer demands.

    Utilize knowledge of machines, engineering practices, mathematics (metric), cabinet materials, and physical sciences.

    Work Environment:

    Office and manufacturing plant.

    Standard office equipment is used daily.

    Occasional work in the production floor to assess quality, operations, and efficiency. Machine operations.

    Position Details:

    Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, one-hour lunch break.

    Occasional evening/weekend work with overtime pay.

    Education and Experience:

    High school graduate and degree in computer-aided drafting and/or engineering, or at least two years of education/training in drafting software and engineering.

    Preferred: Two to three years working with Cabinet Vision drafting software and customer interaction.

    English required; Spanish helpful but not required.
