    Mechanical Engineer - Furnace Design

    A global chemical manufacturing company needs a mechanical design/reliability  engineer with extensive experience in furnaces to lead efforts for a series of reformers and related processes on the gulf coast.

    Key:

    • MUST have experience in high-temp furnaces (SMRs, ethylene/ethane crackers, pyrolysis...)
    • Experience must include design and reliability
    • Mechanical engineering degree

    Position:

    • Manage mechanical integrity work for methane reformers, burners and other furnace and boilers
    • Part of central engineering and project team for company chemical plants along the gulf coast
    • Manage projects - scope + budget smaller projects & part of team for larger
    • Work with the "usual" API and piping codes you would see in refineries and reformers.
    • Manage NDT work with pressure vessels, burners, tubes, etc, with multiple-alloys.
    • Work with all from engineered materials/exotic alloys to refractories
    • Extensive work with multiple teams - mechanical integrity is in the middle of it all!

    Requirements:

    • 4 year degree + in mechanical
    • 10+ years of experience in areas related to mechanical integrity, combustion engineering, fixed equipment reliability, etc
    • Must have most of that experience in or around plants - ideally reformers (methane, ammonia plants, hydrogen plants) refineries, etc.
    • Legal to work in the U.S. legally, not needing a visa now or at a later date

    Salary is approx $140,000 - $157,000 plus bonus.
