We are seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineer I (new graduate) to join our growing engineering team. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals looking to develop hands-on experience in industrial mechanical system design. The successful candidate will support senior engineers in the design and documentation of HVAC systems, piping, plumbing, and utility systems while gaining exposure to multidisciplinary project environments.
• Assist in the development of mechanical design drawings and specifications for industrial facilities, including HVAC, plumbing, and process piping systems• Support equipment selection and sizing for systems such as air handling units, pumps, ductwork, and piping • Perform basic engineering calculations, including load calculations and airflow analysis, under supervision • Work with AutoCAD and/or Revit MEP to produce design drawings and models • Coordinate with architectural, electrical, plumbing, and process engineering teams • Assist in ensuring designs comply with ASHRAE, NFPA, and applicable codes and standards • Support preparation of material takeoffs and engineering cost estimates • Participate in design reviews, client meetings, and occasional site visits • Respond to RFIs and assist with submittal reviews during construction administration • Learn and apply company standards, drafting practices, and project workflows
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or equivalent • 0–2 years of experience (internship or co-op experience preferred) • Basic knowledge of HVAC and mechanical systems design principles • Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Revit MEP (coursework or internship experience acceptable) • Understanding of fundamental engineering principles and willingness to learn industry codes (ASHRAE, NFPA) • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, multidisciplinary environment • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Internship or co-op experience in consulting engineering or industrial design • Exposure to pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences projects • Familiarity with clean utilities or laboratory environments • Interest in pursuing Professional Engineer (PE) licensure • Experience with Microsoft Office and basic engineering software tools
