Job Description:
The Mechanical engineer is responsible to start, produce and finish engineering projects for a leading MEP firm. The Sr, Mechanical engineer will also assist with construction projects. The Sr. Mechanical engineer responsible to manage all aspects of engineering and construction projects from conception to completion. This position will require some travelling and essentially will be required to be on the construction site, in some cases at least once a week. The Sr. Mechanical engineer is expected to conduct multiple projects simultaneously and conduct project meetings with owners and contractors.
Requirements
– BSME
– PE License with a current NCEES record Preferred
– 5+ years’ experience in the Consulting/HVAC Construction Industry
– Familiar with NFPA/ASHRAE and related codes
– HVAC/Chiller/Rooftop units/Piping/Ductwork design for commercial and industrial application
– AutoCAD/REVIT/MS Office/MS Projects/Trane Tracer Program

- Initiate, complete and deliver related engineering standards, training and staffing requirements in order to achieve corporate business goals.
- Promote services to existing customer base while conducting services for them.
- Identify and initiate contact with potential customers in a manner that is consistent with our corporate core values.
- Prepare proposals and estimates for all design and construction projects
- Technical Skills:
- Understands and is proficient in the mechanical construction industry, specifically in the area of critical HVAC systems industry. Capable to create design, construction and bid documents. Understand change orders, meeting notes, codes, etc.
- Understands and is proficient in these areas:
- Heat gain and heat loss load analysis
- Water system applications (hot, chilled, glycol)
- Steam system applications
- Refrigerant system applications
- Air system applications (supply, return, exhaust, ventilation)
- Building automation and automatic temperature control systems
- Fire protections systems
- Sanitary DWV piping systems
- Domestic hot and cold water systems
- Fuel oil piping systems
- Equipment selection and analysis
- Computerized fluid Dynamics
- Understands Building Codes and standards – NEC, BOCA, OBC, NFPA, ASHRAE, ASPE, IBC, ASME etc.
- Understand and is proficient in creating construction drawings and specifications and method of procedures.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, AutoCAD, MS project.
- Understands and is capable of providing construction estimate.
