    Job Summary Arizona Laser Cutting is a growing sheetmetal fabricator dedicated to delivering high-quality parts to our customers. We are seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer with expertise in CAD design and metal fabrication to join our close-knit team.

    The Mechanical Engineer will work closely with the customer to prepare their CAD files for the production process. You will be responsible for creating or optimizing CAD models and producing drawings for projects ranging from simple laser cut parts and complex assemblies. These assemblies will sometime include tube laser cut parts, which we currently do not do in-house. Some jobs will require the design of machined fixtures that will be used in the welding department to hold weldments in position for welding. Proficiency in SolidWorks® is essential to ensure uniformity with our other engineers and equipment. Organization is key and you will be expected to maintaining a very orderly job server. Each job folder will contain the 3D model, older revision history files, current PDF documentation, flat pattern files, nest layout information etc.

    Responsibilities

    Design and develop detailed CAD models and drawings for complex sheet metal components using SolidWorks®

    Collaborate with the client as well as design, manufacturing and quality teams to ensure product feasibility

    Review design specifications and modify existing designs for improvements or revisions

    Prepare technical documentation and BOMs

    Hand off project specs to estimating and outside vendors for FRQ support

    Qualifications

    Mastery of Solidworks®

    Bachelor’s or Masters in Engineering or comparable degree

    Strong project management experience

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    Strong attention to detail

    Strong organizational skills
