The role
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will design, develop, and validate the mechanical components and assemblies that make up Vale's automated matcha hardware platform.
- Design mechanical components and assemblies for Vale's automated hardware systems
- Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD tools
- Conduct tolerance analysis, FEA, and design for manufacture (DFM) analysis
- Build and test prototypes to validate design intent and performance
- Collaborate with Electrical, Firmware, and Controls engineers during integration
- Manage design changes, BOMs, and documentation in PLM systems
- Work closely with contract manufacturers to ensure design intent is maintained in production
Qualifications
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- 4+ years of mechanical engineering experience in product development or hardware design
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, CATIA, or equivalent 3D CAD tool
- Experience with DFM, GD&T, and manufacturing processes (machining, sheet metal, injection molding)
- Hands-on prototyping experience with 3D printing and machine shop tools
- Experience in a food-grade or medical device environment a plus
Compensation
$95,000 – $145,000 per year
