    Keith Company, designs and manufacture state-of-the-art industrial furnaces, kilns, and ovens sold to domestic and international customers. We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team.

    The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all aspects of the design and testing of mechanical equipment in a manufacturing environment.

    Duties and Responsibilities: • Drive a continuous improvement-based vision for the team and manufacturing processes. • Perform process calculations for thermal and mechanical systems. • Design mechanical parts and assemblies for thermal processing, automation, and process machinery. • Work with Electrical Engineering manager to implement instrumentation and controls. • Manage CAD design team in creating and designing sketches, layouts, and drawings. • Use CAD software to create preliminary and detailed models and drawings. • Draft specifications for mechanical components and instruments to meet system requirements. • Specify materials suitable to the thermal and mechanical requirements of the application. • Perform FEA simulation where appropriate. • Support manufacturing team answering their questions • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines. • Maintain records and reporting systems according to the company standards and industry regulations of Keith Company ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems. • Prepare requisitions for components and materials for manufacturing MRP. • May need to travel less than 10%. • Perform other related duties as assigned.

    Required Skills and Abilities: • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. • Excellent mechanical and technical skills. • Strong supervisory and leadership skills with the ability to effectively train others. • Ability to work independently and work in a fast-paced environment. • Proficient with computer-assisted design (CAD) software; SolidWorks, PDM, ACAD, etc. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PPT, OneNote, Outlook 365, and MS Teams).

    Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements: • Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred. • At least five years of job-related experience required. Prior experience working with furnaces and/or kilns is beneficial.

    Physical Requirements: • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Standing, climbing, or kneeling is necessary to evaluate large mechanical structures. • Must be able to lift 30-40 pounds at a time. • Must be able to access and inspect all areas of the facility.
