Job Description
The Warehouse Mechanical Engineering Internship provides hands-on experience supporting facility layout design, equipment placement, and operational optimization within a warehouse environment. This role will work closely with the Facilities Manager and Operations Team to verify, update, and maintain accurate facility and work cell layouts using AutoCAD. The internship offers practical exposure to mechanical engineering concepts applied to real-world warehouse operations and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify and update existing facility and work cell layouts in AutoCAD to ensure accuracy and alignment with current warehouse operations.
- Collaborate with the Facilities Manager and Operations Team to review equipment placement, work cell configurations, and space utilization.
- Conduct physical walkthroughs of the warehouse to validate layouts, measurements, and equipment locations against existing drawings.
- Assist with documenting layout changes, revisions, and version control for facility drawings.
- Support facility planning initiatives related to equipment moves, process changes, and space optimization.
- Assist with data collection related to space utilization, workflow, and material flow to support layout improvements.
- Maintain organized digital files and documentation for facility layouts and engineering records.
- Provide general engineering and administrative support to the Facilities and Operations teams as needed.
