Position Summary & Objective

The Mechanical Engineering Proposal Manager’s primary accountability is for the management of all mechanical engineering proposal deliverables.

Essential Functions Performed by the Position

• Develop winning technical strategies for company proposals to include mechanical turbine design concepts
• Development of cost-effective custom equipment designs
• Ensure that the company is current with industry technology developments so that proposals are competitive
• Mitigate technical/commercial risk and communicate to upper management
• Provide mechanical engineering hours and schedule estimates
• Develop, verify, and maintain processes and software specifically related to mechanical engineering proposal deliverables
• Provide a monthly forecast for mechanical engineering proposal hours
• Represent the company at trade shows and on professional society committees and meetings
• Attend pre-bid site visits and meetings as required

Development Responsibilities

• Create custom new turbine designs that will allow us to compete directly with lower-cost manufacturers
• Support the Mechanical Engineering department in the development of competitive turbine design methods and technology

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor of Science, preferably in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
• 10+ years of turbine mechanical design experience
