    Mechanical Estimator 
    Minneapolis, MN | Direct Hire | $80-105k

    Position Overview
    A leading mechanical contractor is seeking a Mechanical Estimator to prepare timely, accurate, and detailed estimates for commercial and industrial projects. You’ll review drawings, specs, and bid documents; perform quantity takeoffs; develop subcontractor scopes; and collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and trade partners. The ideal candidate will be experienced in HVAC ductwork systems, have strong mechanical estimating skills, and be able to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

    Mechanical Estimator Responsibilities

    • Prepare estimates for plan & spec, design-build, and design-assist projects
    • Review architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and specialty systems drawings
    • Write scope of work letters with assumptions, clarifications, and exclusions
    • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for plumbing, piping, and sheet metal
    • Provide value engineering options and alternative materials analysis
    • Assist with change order estimates and budget development

    Mechanical Estimator Qualifications

    • Minimum: Two-year degree, vocational certificate, or field experience in mechanical trades
    • Preferred: Bachelor’s in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
    • 5+ years mechanical estimating experience
    • Proficiency with estimating software (On-Screen Takeoff, AutoDesk Fabrication ESTmep)
    • Strong knowledge of MN mechanical codes and energy standards
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and BlueBeam
