Trueline is seeking a Mechanical Estimator to join their team in Yonkers, NY. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to diverse construction projects while leveraging your expertise in mechanical systems and estimation.
What You'll Do as the Mechanical Estimator:
- Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure comprehensive and competitive bids
- Utilize industry-standard estimating software to streamline the estimation process
- Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and potential challenges
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to optimize costs while maintaining quality standards
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for client meetings and internal reviews
Must-Haves as the Mechanical Estimator:
- 3-5 years of experience in mechanical estimation within the construction industry
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and piping
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
- Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team
Nice-To-Haves as the Mechanical Estimator:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Professional certifications such as Certified Professional Estimator or LEED accreditation
- Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards
- Experience with project management software
- Strong negotiation skills
