REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and at least 8 - 10 years of practical experience in construction inspection or related areas. An Associate's degree and 10 - 12 years of practical experience would be considered equivalent. A high school diploma and 12 - 16 years of practical experience would also be considered equivalent. Well-developed organizational and supervisory skills and good communication talents are required. Certification in areas of responsibility is required with ongoing programmatic training per the requirements of the project quality program.
Job Title: Principal Quality Control Engineer
Working Title: Mechanical – Piping – Welding Inspector
Additional Duties
\- Develop, revise, and perform peer reviews of Quality Control Inspection Plans related to mechanical, piping and welding, in accordance with Design Output documents, Codes, and Standards.
\- Perform field related inspections in accordance with Quality Control Inspection Plans.
Document inspection results on applicable inspection records and issue Non-Conformance reports as required.
\- Review product and process compliance with all specified drawings, specifications, and other requirements through inspection and/or review of supplied materials and equipment

Additional Experience Qualifications
\- Practical field experience in mechanical, piping, and welding quality control within the
past 16 months. (Preferred)
\- Candidates with an AWS CWI or prior SNT-TC-1A VT Level II certification are
preferred.
\- Prior work experience working under an ASME NQA-1 quality program. (Required)
\- Prior DOE work experience. (Required)
\- Well-developed organizational skills with good communication skills. (Required)
