A growing commercial construction firm in Overland Park seeks a Mechanical Superintendent to oversee HVAC air systems, hydronics, and mechanical equipment rooms on projects across the Kansas City region. This Mechanical Superintendent will coordinate subcontractors, manage schedules, and ensure installations meet specifications and codes. Commercial construction experience with large-scale mechanical systems required.

Key Responsibilities – Mechanical Superintendent
- Direct mechanical installations including HVAC ductwork, VAVs, AHUs, exhaust systems, and mechanical equipment rooms on commercial projects
- Coordinate mechanical subcontractors, manage schedules, and enforce quality control to meet project timelines and budget
- Review contract drawings and specifications to ensure work complies with building codes and manufacturer requirements
- Maintain daily field reports, RFIs, submittal tracking, and safety documentation in Procore or similar project management software
- Enforce OSHA safety standards and conduct jobsite inspections to ensure safe working conditions for all personnel
Qualifications – Mechanical Superintendent
- 7+ years of experience in commercial mechanical construction with emphasis on HVAC systems, ductwork, and hydronics
- OSHA 30 certification required
- Proficient in reading mechanical drawings, specifications, and coordinating with other trades
- Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, or similar construction management software
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to multiple jobsites in the Overland Park and Kansas City metro area
Preferred Qualifications – HVAC Construction Superintendent
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Journeyman HVAC license or trade certification
- Experience with Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project scheduling software
- Familiarity with TAB (Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing) coordination and commissioning processes
- Background in healthcare, data center, or industrial mechanical systems
Physical Requirements – Mechanical Superintendent
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- Frequent standing, walking, climbing ladders and stairs, and accessing mechanical equipment rooms
- Work in varied jobsite conditions including outdoor weather, mechanical rooms, and active construction environments
- Flexibility to work extended hours or off-shift to accommodate construction schedules
