Position Overview
As a Med Spa Medical Assistant, you’ll provide vital clinical support to our PA, helping ensure a smooth, high-quality patient experience. Your role will include prepping for and assisting with advanced aesthetic procedures, ensuring treatment rooms are always patient-ready, and performing essential technical tasks such as phlebotomy and laser prep. This is a hands-on, detail-focused role that demands professionalism, precision, and strong clinical judgment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist providers during aesthetic procedures (e.g., lasers, microneedling, injectables, PRP)
- Anticipate the provider’s needs during treatments and proactively support them
- Prepare treatment rooms and ensure they are stocked, sanitized, and organized
- Complete all necessary treatment documentation, consents, and photo documentation
- Take consistent and professional before-and-after photos for all applicable treatments
- Administer local anesthesia under provider direction (as allowed by training/scope)
- Perform phlebotomy and blood draws as required for services such as PRP
- Operate and prep laser devices, following all safety protocols
- Maintain EMR records including charting, medication orders, and scribing if needed
- Relay post-treatment instructions clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing
- Monitor room supply inventory and restock supplies regularly
- Ensure all clinical equipment is sanitized, safe, and in working order
- Alert the provider and team if the daily schedule is running behind
- Occasionally travel to Vivida’s satellite locations for support, when needed
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Medical Assistant Certification strongly preferred
- Prior experience in a medical spa, dermatology, or plastic surgery setting
- Laser experience and/or certification highly preferred
- Phlebotomy experience (must be confident and efficient in blood draws)
- Strong knowledge of aesthetic services and terminology (Botox, fillers, PRP, laser, etc.)
- EMR/EHR proficiency and strong documentation skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment with minimal oversight
- Exceptional attention to detail, time management, and patient communication skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor; must be a team player and quick thinker
- Self-motivated with strong initiative and problem-solving abilities
