    Role Description

    Sheboygan Senior Community is looking for Medication Techs, Full or Part-time, Second or third shift opening

    The MEDICATION TECH will interact directly with patients, providing comfort and transportation, monitoring their vital signs and assisting with daily living needs. They may also take and record a patient's temperature and blood pressure. MEDICATION TECH CNA often serves as a liaison between patients and nurses by relaying patients' needs or concerns to the nurse.

    Administer medication accurately, observing patient response, as evidenced by documentation in the medical record and lack of negative outcomes. Verifying that all medications are correct and ordering medication for residents

    Provides for the patient's personal hygiene and daily living. This may include providing and clearing bedpans and urinals, providing baths, backrubs, shampoos and shaves, and assisting patients with showers. Assists with meals and feeds patients. Ambulates, turns, and positions patients. Provides fresh water and nourishment between meals.

    Reporting any change in condition

    Performs I&Os; checks vital signs and weight, and post-mortem care.

    Complete all required charting before the end of the shift.

    Works effectively as a team member in the delivery of care and assists in the orientation of new employees.

    Maintains good working relations with nursing unit staff and other hospital employees through appropriate communication.

    Instills confidence in patients by maintaining a neat appearance and performing duties in a competent and caring manner. Reports observations of patients to the nurse caring for the patient to ensure professional assessment.

    With specialized training and written approval, may perform additional and specialized tasks pertinent to the assigned area.

    Pay based on Experience and Education Hours (6am - 1pm) or (6pm to 10pm) or (10pm to 6am)

    Education Required Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with Medication Technician Certification

    Qualifications

    Experience in elderly care and specialized senior care services

    Knowledge of administering medications and monitoring vital signs

    Ability to work well in a team and provide compassionate care

    Strong communication and interpersonal skills

    Experience with electronic health records (EHR) is a plus
