    POSITION SUMMARY The Accounting Manager is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. The Accounting Manager supervises five to seven staff accountants and assistants and is responsible for managing the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Oversee the daily accounting activities required to maintain the clients’ general ledgers
    • Supervise, direct, and review the work of the accounting staff (including, but not limited to, cash reconciliations, account statement reconciliations, check runs, and accounts receivable transactions)
    • Meet with accounting team on weekly and monthly basis as a team, and monthly with each team member
    • Assist accounting team in identifying growth and development opportunities in their roles
    • Maintain organized set of detailed records and files to document financial transactions
    • Resolve complex accounting issues
    • Review general ledger monthly to ensure accuracy of posting
    • Produce monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and ad hoc financial reports
    • Prepare detailed journal entries and account analyses
    • Assist with compilation of information for preparation of tax returns
    • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of all financial data
    • Monitor revenue and expenses while coordinating collection, consolidation, and review of all financial data
    • Prepare monthly and annual reports on expenditures and implementing corrective actions when necessary
    • Advise staff on the handling of routine and non-routine financial reporting transactions
    • Collaborates with other financial staff to support and enable department to meet overall goals and objectives
    • Develop and implement new processes and procedures to enhance the workflow and productivity of the department
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

    • 2-5 years Accounting experience, including financial statement preparation, budgeting, purchasing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
    • 2+ years prior management or supervisory experience in accounting or financial management
    • CPA certified desired, but not required
    • BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or another relevant field

    SKILLS REQUIRED

    • Proficient in computer software – Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
    • Proficient using QuickBooks accounting software
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Ability to think creatively and analytically
    • Comfortable with repetitive, task-based workload
    • Ability to consistently meet stringent deadlines and mange simultaneous projects
    • Strong independent work ethic
    • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate and enhance the team environment
    • Able to multi-task and delegate as needed
    • Excellent phone, verbal, written, and editing skills
    • Ability to maintain a professional attitude in all situations
