POSITION SUMMARY
Under general supervision of the Billing Manager, the Billing Assistant is responsible for assisting the Billing Department with tasks that ensure all claims are submitted correctly and in a timely manner for all surgery center and physician clients.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with primary billing for each surgery center and/or physician practice
- Work with billing coordinators to update and track each account in Excel Spreadsheet
- Locate medical records and implant invoices for claim filing
- Scan, save, and mail insurance claims – includes scanning, saving, mailing of claims with necessary attachments
- Save incoming emails and faxes for each surgery center and physician practice, including Authorizations, Operative Reports, Implant logs/invoices, Full charts (if requested), along with any other pertinent patient information
- Perform other duties as assigned
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Proficient in computer software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe or PDF software)
- Excellent customer service skills
