VETERAN DISABILITY CLAIMS SPECIALIST, WORK FROM HOME, 1099

Do you have experience with Veteran Disability Claims? Personal Injury or Social Security Disability Claims experience? Can you take charge and manage a large case load accurately?

All of these skills are valuable to the position of LEGAL ASSISTANT for MEDCONNECTVA, an industry leader in Medical Nexus Opinions for Veteran Disability Claims.

WE’RE GROWING AGAIN. MEDCONNECTVA is an industry leader that delivers Medical Opinions to attorneys who represent United States Veterans with disability claims. Our client attorneys submit cases to our firm so that we can engage a medical expert to write an opinion that would support the attorneys claim, if the case has merit medically. In some way, we could be considered brokers of highly credentialed medical experts. But in truth, our significant growth is founded on so much more.

Our success has been driven by thorough and precise case management, outstanding client interaction (98% by email), and highly credentialed medical experts. We work with some of the best medical experts in the industry and we act as liaison between our medical experts and the needs of our clients. The position we are looking to fill is VETERAN DISABILITY CLAIMS SPECIALIST; and this person is front and center to everything we do. VETERAN DISABILITY CLAIMS SPECIALIST RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Part-time to Full-Time, 30-35 Hours Per Week – Business Hours (EST)
• 95% of all job communications is via email
• Accept new cases from clients and process them into our system
• Manage incoming cases from intake through the delivery of the final Written Opinion
• Detailed and thorough tracking of each case phase (in-house tracking system)
• Organize medical records
• Review the medical opinion (5-8 pages) and edit for grammar and clarity.
• Communicate with clients and deliver completed medical opinions
• Communicate with our Medical Experts throughout the process as needed
• Work with our team effectively (we’re great to work with!)
• ACT AS THE FACE OF MEDCONNECTVA using outstanding client communication skills, critical thinking to resolve issues, and above all, manage the case load with ACCURACY and meet case deadlines.

SKILLS REQUIRED

• MUST be a DETAIL ORIENTED, critical thinker, with METICULOUS ORGANIZATION SKILLS. THESE ARE NOT JUST FILL-WORDS IN A JOB DESCRIPTION! This is critical to your success.
• MUST have excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Outstanding grammar, editing, and written skills. Must use the Track-Changes feature in Microsoft Word
• Must be comfortable with Medical terms and principals
• Experience with Veteran Disability Claims is a HOME RUN
• Legal Experience is highly desirable
• Experience with Medical Records a plus
• Vocational experience is also valuable
• Ability to effectively build relationships and manage medical experts (95% Email)

HOURS & PAY SCHEDULE

This is a 1099 Independent Contractor position. Hours are part time-to-full time with a flexible schedule. Daytime hours are required Monday through Friday, but some work can be completed outside business hours. Final schedule to be determined on an individual basis.

Income opportunity is based on time with the company and qualifications of candidate. Salary Range $30,000 - $60,000. Annual bonus.
