    Job Description

    SUMMARY

    The Provider Contract Specialist is responsible for building and maintaining IPA Networks via contracting and negotiations, including but not limited to, Primary Care, Specialty and Ancillary service agreements. Reporting to the Vice President of Network Operations, Provider Services, the position’s primary functions are provider contracting, day-to-day support of the provider network, and network analysis.

     

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    · Manage all aspects of the contract life-cycle; Recruiting, negotiating, and contracting of physicians and other health care service providers

    · Support the analysis and development of contract proposals

    · Draft and negotiate blanket and patient specific letters of agreement

    · Maintain comprehensive provider networks for all IPAs managed by MedPOINT Management

    · Assist contracted providers with resolution and clarification of claims’ issues

    · Execute special projects (e.g. rate analysis, language comparison)

    · Identify and lead opportunities for process improvement

    · Work effectively across MedPOINT Management to ensure contracts align with corporate strategy and health plan regulations

    · Attend provider meetings, as needed

    MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

    · 2+ years of experience in contract negotiation and language

    · Substantive knowledge of the HMO marketplace including Medi-Cal, Commercial, and Medicare

    · Familiarity with providers in Los Angeles County and MSO way of doing business is a plus

    SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    · Strong written and verbal communication skills

    · Ability to maintain multiple priorities and deadlines, with strong follow through

    · Strong planning, analytical, and organizational skills

    · Ability to work independently and also take direction

    · Attention to detail

    · Willingness take on and lead projects outside the normal scope of the job description

    · Strong customer service acumen with the ability to resolve complaints and concerns

    · Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization and stakeholders

    · Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite
